Meet Our Instructors
 Denise Seah
Denise Seah has been a professional riding instructor since 1986. She has helped many young and young at heart amateurs get their start in the show ring as well as first time horse owners. Denise’s approach to riding is through Classical Equation. She teaches both English and Western riding classes.
Denise’s high interest and deep love for horses make her account for a wide range of training methods for both horse and rider, while focusing on each individual's goals and talents. Lessons are for the beginner and amateur rider. Each student will learn everything about the horse from the ground up, while stressing the importance of safety and equine behavior.
After receiving a B.F.A. degree in Fine Arts from Park University in Kansas City, Denise spent several years teaching art to children and is currently working as a Children's Book Illustrator for Purple Sky Publishing.

Vicki Massey
Vicki teaches lessons at SueBD only on Saturdays. That’s because she teaches full time in the Independence Public School District; having taught special education students in that district for over 25 years. Vicki has been riding horses for almost twice that length of time, starting at the tender age of 2 when she got her first pony. As an adult, she spent over 10 years showing her two Arabian horses locally and Class A in English Pleasure, Hunter, Show Hack and Driving.
About 3 years ago, she combined her love of teaching and her love of horses and began working with the Girl Scout Horsemanship Program at Misty River Stables. She was asked by the owner of that stable if she had ever thought about teaching horseback riding lessons…and a new love (and a second career) was born!!
Vicki specializes in working with the beginning rider; the young and the young at heart. She has also made a name for herself working with autistic and ADHD students, who especially benefit from the close bond that comes from working with and being accepted by SueBD’s wonderful horses. Vicki is CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) certified in both English and Western. She also has a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
For lessons with Vicki, please call 816-507-3308.
