SADDLE UP! SERIES
Instructor:  Denise Seah
Ages:  7 and up
Time:  6pm-9pm
Cost per session:  $65
Cost for entire series when paid in advance is $300

Each session will focus on a different aspect of horsemanship from groundwork to mounted games.
Designed for riders of all abilities, this series will not only help to develop riding skills and increase horse knowledge,
but also to enhance self-confidence and responsibility.
Students will discover over the course of the clinics that working with horses can be a rewarding and challenging experience.
Each student will receive a special "horsey" surprise for each clinic they attend.

June 14th - Just The Basics!
Discover the horse's basic body parts and learn his body language.  Students will get to draw on the horse while pointing out the different parts of the equine anatomy.  There will be a short discussion on different breeds and their history.
Basic safety rules, grooming and riding skills will be taught and students will ride bareback in the arena.

July 12th - Ground Work!
Learn how to safely catch, release, groom, saddle and ride your horse.
There will also be an introduction to longeing your horse properly.

Each student will be responsible for all aspects of caring for the horse and tack.
This is not your typical lesson as each student will be encouraged to work on her own
or with a partner to get the job done!

August 9th - Riding With Confidence!
Students will need to demonstrate to the instructor how to catch the horse and get him ready to ride.
This includes selecting the proper tack and grooming supplies needed for the job.
Students will be working on balance and form at the walk, trot and canter.
They will also be asked to critique their fellow riders to learn from each other's mistakes.

September 20th - Beginning Trail Riding!
Learn the rules of the road and how to ride safely in a group.  Students will practice an emergency dismount and learn how to handle obstacles found on the trail.  There will be a review of skills learned in previous clinics before taking a trail ride.
In the event of rain, you will ride an obstacle course set up in the arena.

October 11th - Game Day
Learn how to play games on horseback in this clinic.  We will review everything learned in all of the clinics.
After playing games in the arena, there will be a short trail ride for cool down.
Students who have attended all five clinics will receive a certificate of achievement.
